Audio Descriptions

What is an audio description?

You don't need a description of what's happening in a video if there are only people talking. However, if your video includes any other actions that are important to understand the context of your video, than an audio description needs to be included.

Remember: audio descriptions are only required for relevant visuals not already covered in what has been said in the video.

When including audio descriptions...

Do describe:

  • Charts and diagrams
  • Scenes and setting details
  • Facial expressions
  • When characters enter or leave the screen

Don't describe:

  • Information that has already been discussed verbally
  • 'Talking Heads', or people who are simply talking to one another with no additional actions

How do I include one?
