About UADA
The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture makes agricultural and food research discoveries and connects Arkansans with research-based information that supports agriculture, families, communities and the state’s economy.
Through the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and the Cooperative Extension Service, the Division of Agriculture conducts research and delivers practical education across Arkansas.

Our mission
The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture’s mission is to strengthen agriculture, communities and families by connecting trusted research to the adoption of best practices.
Our values
Our work is guided by five core values: integrity, collaboration, accountability, relevance and excellence. These values shape how we conduct research, deliver Extension programs, serve Arkansas communities and work with one another.
Integrity: Professional and personal integrity guide our science and our conduct.
Collaboration: We value teamwork and working relationships with stakeholders and employees.
Accountability: We are good stewards of our resources and the public trust.
Relevance: We are dedicated to staying relevant through listening, innovation and lifelong learning.
Excellence: We expect the highest standards for our work.
What we do
The Division of Agriculture carries out two parts of the historic land-grant mission in Arkansas: research and extension.

Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station
The Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station is the Division of Agriculture’s research arm. Its scientists conduct agricultural and food research and achieve scientific discoveries that help farmers, processors, businesses, communities and families make informed decisions.

Cooperative Extension Service
The Cooperative Extension Service is the Division of Agriculture’s outreach arm. Extension delivers research-based information to the public across four major educational areas: Agriculture & Natural Resources, 4-H and Youth Development, Family & Consumer Sciences, and Community, Economic and Professional Development.
Locations across Arkansas
The Division of Agriculture has a statewide presence.

UADA has locations in all 75 Arkansas counties, including Cooperative Extension Service offices in every county. The Division also has research and extension centers, research stations and extension centers throughout the state.
This statewide network helps connect our research and outreach to local needs.
How we are organized
The Division of Agriculture is part of the University of Arkansas System.
UADA conducts research through the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and outreach through the Cooperative Extension Service. Faculty with joint appointments on University of Arkansas System campuses help support research, teaching and extension work across the state.
The Division is led by the vice president for agriculture. The heads of the Cooperative Extension Service and the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station report to the vice president.
Growing. Stronger.
Growing. Stronger. is UADA’s 10-year strategic plan to build a stronger Arkansas.
The plan focuses on supporting a healthier Arkansas, helping communities thrive, strengthening farm profitability and economic resilience, preparing the workforce, and improving research, extension and teaching.
