Welcome!
The Southern Region of the U.S. has abundant opportunities as well as some enduring challenges in ensuring a safe and profitable food system, community and individual economic vitality and a healthy citizenry. The 2025 Southern Region Mini Land-Grant Meeting brings together leaders from eight groups from both 1862 and 1890 Land-Grant universities to explore avenues for improving the roles of each group and Land-Grant functions as a whole.
We've been conducting Land-Grant work for more than a century and we're far from finished in our mission to improve lives.
On June 9-12, 2025, the Southern Region Mini Land-Grant Meeting will be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas, hosted by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. Eight groups from 1862 and 1890 Land-grant universities will converge to discuss challenges and opportunities.
Our emphases for this meeting are:

Through the Agricultural Experiment Station and the Cooperative Extension Service, the Division of Agriculture conducts research and extension work within the nation’s historic land grant education system. Our mission as a land grant institution, the mission of the Division of Agriculture is to strengthen agriculture, communities and families by connecting trusted research to the adoption of best practices.
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is a public comprehensive HBCU 1890 Land-Grant
Institution. The University embraces its land-grant mission of providing cutting edge
research, teaching, outreach, and service programs that respond to the social and
