Conference Details for County Agents
Because the conference begins at 10:00 AM, lodging will only be provided on December 6th and 7th. All rooms are single occupancy. You have 2 lodging options to choose from:
- C.A. Vines 4-H Center (#1 Four-H Way, Little Rock) Lodging Units 1 and 2
- Delta Hotel by Marriott (201 S Shackleford Rd, Little Rock)
Lodging will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Register early to ensure your preferred choice.
Reservations are being made centrally. DO NOT contact the 4-H Center or the Delta Hotel to make your own reservation. You will receive an email within a 5 days of registering with your confirmed lodging assignment.
UADA policy limits lodging to employees traveling more than 50 miles from the employee’s Official Station unless specifically authorized by the Travel Administrator. If your office is within 50 miles of the 4-H Center and you have special circumstance that necessitates lodging, please email smccullough@uada.edu.
When registering, please indicate which meals you plan on eating during the conference so we have an accurate count. You will also have the ability to indicate any dietary restrictions.
Please note that breakfast will only be provided at the 4-H Center for participants staying there and at the Delta Hotel. If you choose to eat breakfast elsewhere, expenses will not be reimbursed using in-service funds.
Dinners are on your own and can be claimed for reimbursement on your December travel if you are lodging at 4-H Center or Delta Hotel. Instructions on how to do this will be provided after the conference. An evening networking reception will be held on Wednesday, December 7 at 6:00 PM with heavy hors d'oeuvres. All UADA county and state faculty and staff, including those located on campus and at locations across the state, are encouraged to attend.
Agents are invited to present a poster during the conference. This opportunity is available to ALL agents. You can do this individually or in collaboration with other agents.
Pre-registration for posters is required. When you register, you will need to provide a title for your poster, the names of all agents who are poster authors and a brief abstract about your poster (100 words or less).
Posters will be on display throughout the conference. Maximum dimensions are 4’ wide X 3’ tall. Posters can be printed through Extension’s Print Media Services. Contact Chris Meux in Communications (501-671-2125; cmeux@uada.edu) for more information. Printing costs are not covered by in-service training funds so you will need to use county or other funds to pay for printing.
If you present a poster, don’t forget to report that you presented at a statewide conference on your performance appraisal and promotion documents!
FCS and 4-H Agents are invited to sign up to present an agent roundtable to showcase your work in FCS, 4-H and CPED. ANR agents have a mandatory training session during this time period and will not be able to participate.
This session will be held on Thursday, December 8 at 10:00 AM-11:15 AM. Each presenter will have a table that can be used to display items. As a presenter, you will be expected to remain at your table throughout the session to talk to participants interested in educational program being showcased.
Pre-registration for agent roundtables is required. When you register, you will need to provide a title for your roundtable, the names of all agents who are co-presenting and a brief abstract about your roundtable (100 words or less).
If you host a roundtable, don’t forget to report that you presented at a statewide conference on your performance appraisal and promotion documents!
Nine 90-minute concurrent sessions will be offered during the conference. The planning committee has tried to structure these so there are training options that will be of interest to every agent during each concurrent session. A list of trainings offered in each concurrent session can be viewed here. You will select one training from each concurrent session to attend.
If a training is being repeated during the conference, there will be a notation indicating what other times it is available to make it easier for you to determine what training you want to take at what time. There is one 2-part training being offered on Thursday (Basics of Strategic Planning for Organizations). If you sign up for Part 1, you will automatically be enrolled in Part 2.
