Quick Getting Started Tutorial
How do I upload contacts?
To comply to the CAN-SPAM regulations you can only send emails to people who have explicitly consented. An example might be a checkbox on a registration form to receive emails, "Do you wish to receive email updates from us?" (You'll be more successful gaining subscribers if your specific about what type of emails they will receive.)
There are multiple ways to upload contacts:
- They can be added manually one at a time or uploaded via a file or spreadsheet. View
the steps to learn how.
- You can also gain contacts passively through a Constant Contact sign-up form. Once the form is created you can add the form link to your webpage or even a social post! Learn how to create a sign-up form (AKA lead generation page). If you want to add multiple mailing lists to a single form (see Miller Co. example) create a "basic landing page" from the sign-up forms tab.
DO NOT UPLOAD A DISTRIBUTION LIST
If you upload a list (DL) you'll most likely end up sending duplicate emails and you are not complying with the CAN SPAM laws.
