Worker's Compensation

 

University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture (UADA) employees are covered by Arkansas Workers' Compensation. This compensation is available at no cost to the employee and is administered by the Arkansas Public Employee Claims Division.

All workplace injuries should be reported even if they are non-emergency and do not require medical treatment.

  • Injured employee who needs immediate emergency medical care goes directly to the closest hospital Emergency Room (ER) or calls 911 if ambulance is needed.
  • Injured employee notifies his/her supervisor.
  • Supervisor immediately calls the Company Nurse Injury Hotline to report the injury.
  • Injured employee contacts the Company Nurse Injury Hotline as soon as they are able.
  • Company Nurse (a) gathers information about the injury and (b) sends the injury report to the Public Employee Claims Division, and the UADA Workers' Compensation Coordinator.
  • Injured employee and Supervisor return the signed and completed claim forms to the UADA Worker’s Compensation Coordinator.
  • UADA Workers' Compensation Coordinator sends completed documentation to the Public Employee Claims Division for processing.
  • Injured employee who needs medical attention notifies his/her supervisor.
  • Supervisor calls the Company Nurse Injury Hotline with the employee to provide necessary information such as social security number, date of birth, contact information, and further details about the incident.
  • Company Nurse (a) provides immediate medical treatment recommendation to the employee and (b) sends the injury report to the designated treatment facilities, the Public Employee Claims Division, and the UADA Workers' Compensation Coordinator.
  • Injured employee and Supervisor return the signed and completed claim forms to the UADA Worker’s Compensation Coordinator.
  • UADA Workers' Compensation Coordinator sends completed documentation to the Public Employee Claims Division for processing.
  • Injured employee notifies his/her supervisor.
  • Supervisor and employee complete an Incident Report Form to record job injuries that do not require medical treatment.
  • UA Workers' Compensation Coordinator retains the signed, completed Incident Report Form as documentation of the incident.

Four mandated Workers’ Compensation posters – Form P, Form P-Spanish, Form H, and the Company Nurse Injury Hotline Poster – must be displayed at all UADA work locations in a conspicuous place where the other state and federally mandated employee notification posters are displayed.
